Michelle C. Thomas is a leader in Loudoun County in the world of social justice advocacy, community organizing & historic preservation. Thomas is one of the greatest influences on social justice with groundbreaking historic preservation projects
(i.e. the preservation & reclamation of the former Belmont Slave Cemetery in Ashburn and Sycolin Slave Cemetery & African American Burial Ground in Leesburg).
Thomas’ trailblazing work as a community advocate in Loudoun have given a voice to the voiceless and paved the way for Equality, Equity and Justice.
Why Soil and Water Conservation Director?
The environmental and economical injustice implications of soil and water conservation, disproportionately affect rural, urban and low income communities of color in Loudoun.
We need leadership that will be inclusive of all voices, we need to deliver
community education programs and foster partnerships to support
our farmers and environmental concerns throughout Loudoun County.

Pastor Michelle is passionate about working for all of Loudoun County. Her background as an engineer, scholar graduate from Duke University, business owner, historian, preservationist, Pastor , wife and mother has prepared her well for this important role in our community.
